About the Airline

Iberia Airlines is the national airline of Spain and is part of the Iberia Group. Founded in 1927, the company is based in Madrid and operates flights to Spain and other regions including Europe, Latin America, North America, Africa and Asia. Iberia is one of the oldest airlines in Europe and offers a strong global network.

While Iberia is not a member of major airline alliances such as Star Alliance, it is a member of the Oneworld alliance. This means it flies with other Oneworld members and benefits from the alliance.

Iberia is also known for its customer service and offers comfortable services such as spacious seats, entertainment options and meal service on many of its flights. In addition, the company has been seen focusing on sustainability and environmental impact reduction projects in the 2020s.

Iberia offers flexibility to passengers with different cabin options such as economy, business and first class for long-haul flights

Check-In Procedures

Airport Check-in

If you do not want to check in online or have luggage, you can also check in at the airport. Iberia offers check-in counters and kiosks at most major airports. It is important to arrive at the airport early, as for international flights you are usually expected to check in 2-3 hours before your flight departure.

Self-Check-in Kiosks

Iberia has self-check-in kiosks at many airports. You can check in for your flight, get your boarding pass and drop off your luggage at these kiosks.

Luggage Drop-Off and Extra Services

If you have luggage, you will need to go to the Iberia counter or baggage drop-off points at the airport after checking in online to drop off your luggage. Additional services (for example, seat selection or special meal requests) may also be available at this stage.
